In Theodora and Callum: One Cupcake at a Time

Hello Darlings,

Chocolate, cupcakes, wine, cookies, or shoes—take your pick! Not everyday is smooth sailing and there are days when every girl needs a little pick-me-up. Knowing how fabulous you are, no hiccup should deter very long your drive to to success.

And for those not so fabulous days, it is okay to take a little me-time to indulge. No, I am not saying that you go out and splurge on a new wardrobe. In fact, stay away from shopping malls when feeling down, it can be really bad for your finances.I do however believe in indulging in amazing cupcakes from your nearby bakery, or maybe chocolate cake, or maybe after work cocktails with friends. Whatever it takes for you to smile! Being a cry-baby never accomplishes much good, so instead take a little time to indulge in a little delight, then move on...

Miami-North Pole: The Quest for Resort Clothing

Hello Darlings,

I only brought my favourite Polka Dot— my carry-on suitcase with a pet name— to Miami. Polka Dot has been my loyal travel companion for the past year and has never failed to fit five pairs of heels in company of all my outfits. As I packed for this adventure, I was expecting to go shopping for new summer items.

As a Canadian shopping enthusiast, I am a frequent "victim" of high shipping fees, price inflation and crazy duties. With American travel in my future, I saved up the past few months planning to indulge in the land of lower taxes and smaller price tags. Image my surprise when it is +25 celsius outside, but the stores are stocked with parkas, boots and hats! WHAT?

Miami Downtown: The Year of Black Dragon

Hello Darlings,

The year of 2012 is especially significant in the Chinese zodiac. Combinations of animal signs create a cycle where the Year of the Black Dragon occurs only once every 60 years, which symbolizes water and the colour black.¹ Of personal note, Dragon is my zodiac sign.

To ring in my own new year, I enjoyed a lovely dinner with a delightful bottle of Oregon wine and delicious lobster tail.Instead of staying in South Beach and taking part in one of the night club parties, I wanted an urban atmosphere of restaurants and tall buildings :P Everyone knows that a city girl can be taken out of a city but the city can never be taken out of her.
