From a silky figure hugging number for a date, a cotton maxi for the beach, or cocktail frocks with lace and sequins for a night out on the town. There are as many dress variations as there are women and often not one type suits all women, with the exception of a little shift dress!

Made popular in the late 1950s and the staple of the 60s, a "shift dress" signified a shift in culture and represented the rebellious attitude of the time period. The shape is flattering on most figures and is without doubt the most versatile of the category. It is classic and oh so Audrey Hepburn! Finding a perfect one might take time but if you have one in your closet — in addition to a little black dress — you will be covered for most occasions.
