Quest of a Girly Girl in the Business World

Hello Darlings,

I finally got away from my desk for desserts with my bestie. After a few treats and some juicy gossip, we headed to Future Shop to pick up my camera lens. Given my beginner’s knowledge of photography and that an average decent camera lens costs a couple hundreds, it was no small investment.

So why all of a sudden shop for “serious” equipment, well I am very proud to announce that WithLoveGabrielle was awarded a government grant as a promising small business! I feel very fortunate to have an opportunity to work in two areas that I truly adore: art and social media.

This starting of a business is no small task, and it is difficult to be taken seriously when you love pink and happen to own more  shoes than pens! Well if Elle Woods could be a professional, so can I!

There were times when I definitely never thought that I would ever have what it takes to start a business, but this grant gave me such validation. It has helped me to push aside the worst critics and…well, jump for joy! I might be overly bubbly, always happy, and definitely always overly girl-y, but I am no idiot. I love pink and I will never take down my style to be so-called "taken seriously".

Note to the world and my fair ladies: own up to who you are and never be bullied into being something else! I wanted to write this post for my lovely ladies who are in doubt or feel pressured to conform. Forget about others and just show your true colors because at the end of the day, people who judge are the ones who are too near-sighted. What’s the point of even wasting your time on them? :) Embrace and reach your full potential.

Wilfred Boyfriend Linen Blazer
3.1 Philip Lim Simon Sunnies
Michael Kors Watch
Z Spoke by Zac Posen Purse
Zara Tricolor Vamp Flats

My potential was challenged in the following outfit by an adorable (and yes, slightly too short) dress. My justification for length: it was 38 degrees outside and I just had the hardest time covering up: P In all honestly, I just love short dresses, but never with high heels: that would be too risqué. To add a vibrant touch, I wore my new Zara flats. I just can’t get over the beautiful color blocking!!!

P.S. Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback on the last video. I am proud to announce that I have purchased a  high definition camcorder and will be  bringing you lots more videos :) I would love to hear your suggestions as to what my next video should feature. Thank you!

With Love...
