Jimmy Choo Goes to Church

Hello Darlings,

Although I avoid the topic of family, friends and relationships, those are the most important parts of my life. I feel very blessed with my family and the people that I have in my life. I am especially reminded of this during the holidays.

Being an immigrant, I am separated from close family by an ocean and thousands of kilometers. Although I did not have all of the family members present, the traditions that we carry on in Canada bring us together. As a practicing Greek-Catholic, I attend church regularly and value my traditions. Keeping up our faith has been in my family for generations, therefore, the holiday seasons are filled with traditions, family and lots of food.

I was fully prepared for Easter festivities. And no, I am not referring to preparing the Easter basket, I am referring to my wardrobe choices, naturally!

Usually I wear black at church, but with such beautiful weather I couldn’t help but bring out my favorite LWD. The opportunity to wear a little white dress (LWD) was an ideal way to celebrate the arrival of spring and give my black attire some rest. Along with my white Robert Rodriguez dress was my first pair of Jimmy Choo sling backs. I thought the delicate details of the dress went perfectly with a feminine shoe.

To complete the look, I wore my new pair of 3.1. Phillip Lim cat-eye sunnies. I’ve been searching for a pair of cat-eye shades for years. This pair in particular is very modern and subtle. The color perfectly contrasted with my red hair and the metal detail on the top added some interest. To say that I am quite happy with this look is an understatement, as I did feel quite proud of pulling it together. Do you know that feeling of pride when you wear one of those closet favorites in a completely new way? Well, this was exactly it.

I am wearing:
Robert Rodriguez Chiffon White Dress
Marc by Marc Jacobs Coat in Sandshell Khaki Trench
3.1 Phillip Lim Simon Sunnies
Michael Kors Watch
Z Spoke by Zac Posen Leather Tote
Jimmy Choo Izzy Shoes

This is the perfect time of the year for bringing out your girlie side, and to show off a feminine and classic style. Why not bring out that sheath dress, mary janes, and those beautiful pearls? Just be sure your footsies are ready. Hint hint: get a pedi!!! There’s nothing more disappointing than a woman with poorly kept feet and nails. I am not saying that you have to splurge on fancy spa appointments. Take few hours out of your Sunday and get on with it. You can even play a fun movie to keep you company. If you have the extra penny, take yourself out for a mani/ pedi. One way or another, you’ve deserved to spend that much needed time on yourself!

P.S. Ladies, spring has sprung and it is time for warm weather fashion…and of course, I am ready with the summer trend report and my personal must-have coming up next!

If you  go to a religious institution what do you prefer to wear???

With Love...

Marta
