Blue Mountain, Ontario

Hello Darlings, Tossing a few essentials into your overnight bag and heading off for a last minute trip is the spice of life! Either a hop in a car or a skip to an airplane, getting away on whim is exactly what a girl needs sometimes. It's time the perfect time breeze and reboot! No need to over think or even bother planning  just go to the first place that comes to mind.

For me that place is always Blue Mountain! Situated in a charming town of Collingwood and right on the Georgian Bay, the resort has become a home away from home during all of the seasons. As an avid skier, winter weekends are spent on the slopes. In the spring, it is all about hiking. Summers are spent at the pool or beach. In the fall, I love the Apple Trail. Every season has its own charm and every visit comes with a new experience. Just being away from the city but without having to travel is bliss!

Prior to celebrating my 25th birthday, I spent a few days lounging at the pool reading Sandberg's Lean In and just soaking up the sun. In between the pool and the hiking, I absolutely loved spending a few rigorous hours at the high ropes course which was then rewarded with a delightful glass of wine. Staying active during the day is easy and fun, it's in the evening when you can just kick back and enjoy the warm air and fun company for a number of hours.

My top five things to do include:

1. Breakfast at Oliver & Bonaciniat the Westin -  The view is too pretty and the food is always perfect.

2.Timber Challenge - Every time it is my aim to complete the entire high ropes course, regardless of how many bruises  I gain in the process.

3. Firehall Pizza - The perfect afternoon hang out.

4. Hiking up the mountain and taking gondola down - because going up is always harder!

5. Twist Martini Lounge - perfect for an evening dinner and cocktails

Whenever visiting Blue Mountain, I always like to stay at The Westin Trillium House  by now any Starwood property feels like a second home. When traveling for work or leisure I enjoy being in a familiar environment. From the heavenly bed and shower to the familiar scent of white tea, it's now homey feeling! I love the large room with balconies overlooking the village as well as the fireplace in the living room.
