What Defines Personal Style?

Hello Darlings, never before has personal style been as glorified as it is today. With street style culture, it is impossible to ignore the urge to step into the edgier direction to be one of the "fashion forwards" — where a woman can cross the line between dressing for herself versus for the sake of fashion.

It is safe to say that every woman is always searching for her signature style. Some redefine themselves with new designer pieces every season, while others find their personal style by studying history and searching vintage stores. If you agree that a woman's style is an extension of who she is, and who she wants become — it also makes sense that the moment fashion takes over with the final say about what we wear, it is no longer a woman's personal style but one that is conditioned by culture.

Every piece that a woman wears is often a good reflection of the state of her personal life. While often choices may be effortless and unintentional, they definitely do tell a story. So what kind of story do you want your personal style to tell?

I AM WEARING:Marc by Marc Jacobs 10th anniversary tee // 7 for All Mankind Roxanne Jeans // Marc by Marc Jacobs Friends of Mine Loafers // Juicy Couture Tailored Blazer // YSL Arty Ring // Marc Jacobs Sutton Purse

Personally, I am in constant battle between fashion and personal style. While dressing fashion forward is much easier than investing the time to define my personal style - and what best speaks to the woman that I am becoming - I see myself as a woman who enjoys dressing up but does not give it too much importance. I see myself as a woman who enjoys simplicity and timeless pieces, and who surely loves to express my fun and wild side once in a while. My belief is that personal style is just that personal, and is an intimate detail of a woman's life that you can choose to share with others.

With Love...
