Toronto Fashion Week Day 1: JUMA show

Hello Darlings,

Following a grueling week of fashion shows, I was truly looking forward to this weekend to just breeze!

First, thanks to all of the designers and PR companies for allowing me to take part in an event that celebrates the beauty of our home-grown talent. It was a pleasure to go behind the scenes backstage and to attend many of the shows.  Also I would like to send out and even more special of a thank you to my best friend Anna and my bf E, they were there every step of the way!

On the first day of LG Fashion Week, I had the opportunity to attend the JUMA show, which creates unisex ready-to-wear clothing and accessories. The company was founded in 2003 by brother and sister team Alia and Jamil Juma and is based in New York.

Their line is available at  Harvey Nichols (Hong Kong), Bloomingdales (Dubai), Revolve (LA), Post 26 (LA), Eva (New York), Kaight Boutique (New York), Life Curated (Brooklyn), By Definition (Austin), Tenth & Proper (Vancouver), Vered (Israel), Bella (Guatemala), Simons (Montreal), Serpentine (Toronto) and many other boutiques worldwide. Check out their pieces online at www.revolveclothing.com and www.farfetch.com.

The JUMA F/W 2011 collection is full of delicate silks that are charged with energy and mystery by their striking patterns. From beautiful blouses to scarves, this is a collection that I am looking to add to my closet. The collection was inspired by Tibet, Thailand & Shenzhen’s local tapestry work and wildlife. To modernize their prints, JUMA distorted and layered them, and added gradients of color. The multi-colored knits of the collection were inspired by the thick, colorful wool blankets that the mountain people wrap around themselves during the winter months in Tibet.

I am wearing:
Wilfred Semi-Cheer Tee—from Aritzia
D&G silk bralette
Robbi&Nikki by Robert Rodriguez Feather Skirt
Mike & Chris "Paul" Leather Hoodie
Fogal "Lobby" Pantyhose
Michael Kors Watch
Gustto Cokera Purse
Since it was an opening night and the last show of the evening, I chose to dress up in cocktail attire by combining my new Robbi&Nikki by Robert Rodriguez feather skirt with a simple leather hoodie, going for a look that mixed a cocktail look with casual style.

Well, I am off to get ready for my Saturday night out :)

With Love...
