Stop, Before Kissing That Boy

Hello Darlings,  Bella and Edward's love-story might have had a fairy-tale ending, but Kristen and Robert's story is not so lucky! On July 17, Kristen Stewart was photographed canoodling with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders who is married with two kids. Following the story which was first reported by Us Weekly, Kristen released an apology to Rob:

“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”

She is not the first nor the last to spark the cheating scandal. Think back to those entertaining days of Tiger Woods and his one too many affairs and then of course, the presidential drama with President Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. Monica went down in the history books "as an American woman whom United States President Bill Clinton admitted to have an improper relationship with while she worked at the White House"  and Tiger as simply scum. Despite the humiliation and wrongdoing, affairs continue to happen and more often end with terrible result. So, it makes one wonder: Why Do People Cheat?

I will admit that I have never cheated, so my perspective might be one that is slightly biased. Yes, mistakes happen but I always wondered how and given what situation. Is it really worth the risk to lose everything just for a night or two of bumping and grinding? According to many biologists, anthropologists and sociologist monogamy is simply unnatural and was only invented for a sense of order. When it comes to cheating men cheat for the lust of sex, meanwhile women because of emotional neglect. Essentially, it is a physical versus emotional need. Men give more importance to the sexual side of the indiscretion, while women focus on the emotional. Men take cheating as something that is directed at him personally rather than the relationship itself says Paul Amato, professor of sociology at Penn State.

Perhaps knowing and understanding these differences is the first step towards creating a satisfying relationship.

With Love...

Marta
