Whistler Apres-Ski

Hello Darlings, Part two from my Whistler ski trip, with all the fun and fabulous things to check out after a long day on the slopes!

Whistler is known worldwide as Canada's most high profile ski destination. It's obvious the skiing is world-class, but I also quickly came to learn the Apres-Ski scene is pretty awesome too. Another incredible thing about Whistler is how many Australians are working in the village. They are super fun people and I love their accents, so it's definitely a good thing. But if you've never been to Whistler it's really incredible since at least every second person you meet is an Aussie.

Who says beer can't be fabulous! My first stop was the obvious choice, Longhorn Saloon right at the base of the ski hill. Fun spot and decent food, and the combination of apres-ski storytelling combined with beer drinking likely makes the crowd the happiest you could find outside of Disney!

Whistler Village isn't usually very cold, and Longhorn has a fun patio at the base of the Whistler Mountain so you can sit outside and enjoy a sunny day. By the way, this is my new Puffy Bunny winter jacket from Mackage.

As much as I love skiing, one of the things most appealing about visiting British Columbia was eating seafood every night. Not sure why I am craving all sorts of seafood in my twenties, and the stylish Araxi Restaurant in Whistler Village scratched my itch with their B.C. Oysters Five Ways and other assorted treats.

The photos are missing, and maybe for good reason! But the funnest Apres-Ski festivities were definitely at the famous Tommy Africa's night club, right in the heart of Whistler Village. The night I went, a super fun DJ played 80's and 90's dance music to a dance floor seemingly filled with all the twenty-something Aussies who work at the resort. Best night out that I've had in ages, and highly recommended.

The next morning, I woke up to this amazing view from my hotel room at the Westin Whistler. Look at all that snow! Part 3 still to come, and soon after exploring Vancouver.

With Love...
