Toronto Life Stylebook: Transition Into Fall

Hello Darlings,  A few months back, I shot with Norman Wong for Toronto Life Stylebook annual issue. Since the magazine is now on newsstands, I can share my personal photos from the shoot, which was brutal since it was a fall fashion shoot on a mid-summer 35+ celsius degree day - ugh!

While planning my outfit, I was thinking about "What can I wear now and would also wear in the early fall?" Yes, a flowing silk dress would have been a much more comfortable for the temperature that day, but this outfit worked as well. So it inspired me to think "can we continue to wear out favorite summer pieces in the fall?" To me, the answer is ABSOLUTELY.

Among the many summer trends, in particular I really love sorbet colors.  And although we may be transitioning into fall, it does not mean that the summer favorites need to go into storage. In fact, you can wear them throughout fall.  When transitioning into cooler seasons, layering is the key. So try layering that cute summer top with an edgy bomber or throw a blazer over that summer dress!

Think how cute a silk cami can look with a cozy cashmere cardigan? So as much as I love this adorable tangerine pullover and a caramel skirt now, I plan on loving them just as much this fall. The pullover will look great under a leather jacket or a fur vest and a skirt will look amazing with a pair of opaque stockings and booties.

I AM WEARING: T by Alexander Wang  Waffle Knit Sweater // BCBG Max Azria Valerie Skirt // Kate Spade Retro Sunglasses // Tory Burch Beverly Pumps // Kate Spade Little Blaine Satchel // YSL Arty Ring // Tai Bracelet // Ettika Handmade Friendship Bracelet

The best part of playing with seasonal items and wearing them outside the season is the look can be unexpected and fun.  Plus, what girl wouldn't want to have a wider selection of clothing to play with? For one, I would!

No need to part ways with your summer favorites, just think of ways to introduce them into fall wardrobe!

With Love...
