Still, no rain boots...

Hello Darlings,

It has been raining non-stop for the past few days! Boo... for me rain=frizzy hair, pants, and booties! I am still not a fan of rain boots, but maybe one remotely bizarre day I will begin to warm up to them. However, until that day arrives...I am all about booties! They keep my footsies dry, warm and happy :) When going for booties on a rainy day, remember to spray them with water-repellent otherwise it might damage the shoe.

I never quite understood the point of rain boots as reasonable amount of leather shoes are water-proof. But then again it is completely my opinion and I have see people pulling off rain boots with flying colors!I just have a hard time seeing myself do that.

Whenever I shop was fall and winter footwear, I keep in mind the weather and always look for shoes that are comfortable and water-proof. Also, the thickness of leather plays a great part in the selection. I don't like paper-thin leather as it will get wet and is most likely to crack in cold temperatures. The biggest NO NO for wet weather is SUEDE! I've made a huge mistake  a while a go by purchasing a $600 pair of Michael Kors suede boots for winter.Let me tell you it broke my heart when after a month of wear they looked like garbage! I had to learn my lesson the hard way, so just wanted to make sure that you don't. Because every time I think about the boots, I want to cry.  Although, I adore suede shoes....they are only for dry weather.

Despite the nasty weather, I decided to venture outside to grab some yummy desserts with Andrew and his brother.Since I am quite a bit of tomboy at heart, spending time with the boys is always fun-filled :P I settled for a fun look with pig-tails which have become my latest obsession. Ever since seeing Prada's Spring 2010 show and ads, I was determined that this was the summer of pig-tails! All I need to do is find a perfect berry lip-gloss since red still intimidates the life out of me :P To make the day a little brighter, Marc by Marc Jacobs scarf  added a perfect touch of color.

Otherwise the rest of the look was quite simple, my favorite Talula jacket of the moment paired with an over-sized tee and cropped skinnies. Personally, I love cropped skinnies a lot more than an average pair( at least for now!) because of the way that they display a pair of shoes. No more hiding of shoes, which works for me :)

I am wearing:
Marc by Marc Jacobs "Bleecker Street" Tee— from Marc by Marc Jacobs Bleeker Street Store, NYC
Marc by Marc Jacobs Stripped Scarf—from Holt Renfrew, Yorkdale
Talula Cotton Suprlus— from Aritzia, Sherway Gardens
Rich & Skinny Legacy Crop— from Holt Renfrew, Sherway Gardens
