Malibu, California

Hello Darlings, People always say how fabulous is Los Angeles. And they are right, but I just didn't realize it until my second trip when learning that to experience the real beauty of Los Angeles, you have to leave Hollywood and Beverly Hills and hit the road.

This trip, I made a Saturday afternoon drive northwest into the mountains, eventually making my way to Malibu and the beaches.  With some good advice, I drove north on the 405 highway into the San Fernando Valley and then west on the 101 highway exiting at Las Virgenes Road that eventually becomes Malibu Canyon Road.

As the road winds  through the Santa Monica Mountains, the views are breathtaking.  Malibu Canyon Road ends in the heart of Malibu at the Pacific Coast Highway. The home of Two and a Half Men is not as spectacular as one would expect since it's actually quite a sleepy and small beach town. But it still has lots of character and the famous Duke's Restaurant on the beach is the perfect combination of ocean town charm and Hollywood scene.

And for my day at the beach, I decided to wear a denim shirt for the first time. There's something comforting wearing one, kind of like a pair of your favorite jeans. It doesn't look like you tried to hard, which is exactly the look I was going for. Up next in denim exploration is a Canada tuxedo... with a pair of heels!

With Love...
