Double the Juicy...
Hello Darlings,
After a grueling day of shopping for some spring essentials, I think I am ready for SPRING! With my list in hand, I have had a successful day of locating the majority of the items that I jotted down.
If I was to choose only one item to purchase it would definitely be a cute pair of flats.
I cannot live without flats! So this season, I decided to buy the same flat as my trusted favorite but in a different color - another pair of Juicy Couture "Rose" ballerinas. As I am still obsessed with my pink ones, I figured that getting the same pair in a different color is like having your cake and eating it too (I’ve never quite understood this saying, cake is always eaten:P ) I love Juicy footwear, not only because it is adorable but because it has incredible quality and comfort.
I ordered my pair from Neiman Marcus, which I must admit was a pleasant surprise. I usually stay away from ordering from department stores as they charge crazy shipping fees and predetermined taxes. In this case I used the code: WELCNM to receive free shipping on purchases over $100. Also, knowing your duties on spot is very comforting. For fellow Canadians, who have to play the guessing game with the duties office know how uncomfortable it is so order an item and then wait to see the duties. I might as well note that shipping taxes to Canada are pretty crazy.
However, in this case purchasing these flats in Canada would bank it an about $250 with taxes, meanwhile on line the final cost was $190. Despite paying $40 in taxes, the price difference between purchasing them in Canada and on-line was quite drastic. Therefore, before making that pricier purchase, be sure to check out if it available on line at a lower cost. Be sure to count the shipping and duties into the final cost, rather than just looking at the price tag. Despite my love for Canada, I must admit that shopping can get quite frustrating since some in demand items are greatly overpriced and also not very accessible. As a result, I tend to shop online as much as I do in stores, if not more.
I am wearing: Juicy Couture "Rose" ballerinas in natural snake ( from Neiman Marcus); Marc by Marc Jacobs Bleecker Street Tee ( from Marc by Marc Jacobs on Bleecker, NYC); Mike& Chris "Paul" leather hoodie (from Holts Last Call); Marc by Marc Jacobs chain clutch ( from Marc by Marc Jacobs on Bleecker, NYC); Aldo "Gillins" bow ring ( from Aldo Accessories); Marc by Marc Jacobs "Miss Marc" Studs (from Nordstrom Soho, NYC); Chanel Aviators ( from Chanel). As for my outfit, comfort was essential! This is what I wore to yesterdays shopping trip: I went for my all-time favorite pair of Alexander Wang for Gap khakis, a tee with a naked bottom, and my obsession du jour …the leather hoodie! To add a little sparkle and shine to an otherwise neutral outfit, I went with my Marc Jacobs chain clutch and Aldo bow ring. I always keep my accessories in one color area, either silver of gold ,never mixing the two. As I’ve mentioned before, it is all in the details.
