Because we can make a difference...
Hello Darlings,
Yesterday, I showed my support for Canadian Cancer Society Girls Night In program while spending some much needed quality time with my mom. This amazing program focuses on funding leading-edge research for women's cancers, specifically breast, cervical, ovarian and uterine. Every little bit helps, so sign up and host your own girls night in or out! It can be as small and intimate as mine or a big fiesta... For more information on the program check out, Girls Night In.
There is another way to get involved by participating in North York General Hospital's Underwear Affair on August 28. The mission of the Underwear Affair is to bring awareness to down there-ness and to uncover a cure for below-the-waist cancers. Following the 10K/5K walk is an EXPOsed Afterparty. With Love…readers can sign up for The Underwear Affair for only $15! Just enter the following discount code when registering: With Love
Regardless of the cause just remember every effort counts, so please get involved!!! Not only did I have fun expressing my support but I am back with an outfit post and seven steps to stay healthy :)
The cause and the time spent with my mother is why this post is so dear to me. We had lots of fun on our beauty spree... every girl knows how fun it is to spend an hour or two at a department store beauty counters. We then had a quick cup of Starbucks in our favorite botanical garden and a movie at home. The movie expenses that would regularly be spent at the theater and extras were donated to the the Canadian Cancer Society. Since we are on the topic of health care and prevention, here are seven steps by the Canadian Cancer Society to keep in mind in order to stay strong and healthy:
1. Be a non-smoker and avoid second-hand smoke.
2. Eat 5—10 servings of vegetables and fruit a day.
Choose high fibre,lower fat foods.
If you drink alcohol, limit your intake to 1—2 drinks a day.
3. Be physically active on regular basis: this will also help maintain a healthy body weight.
4. Protect yourself and your family from the sun.
Reduce sun exposure between 11 am and 4 pm.
Check your skin regularly and report any changes to your doctor.
5. Follow cancer screening guidelines.
For women, discuss mammograms, Pap tests, and breast exams with a health professional.
For men, discuss testicular exams and prostate screening with a health professional.
Men and women should also discuss screening for colon and rectal cancer.
6. Visit your doctor or dentist if you notice a change in your normal state of health.
7. Follow health and safety instructions both at home
and at work when using, storing and disposing of hazardous material.
Please keep in mind these suggestions and be aware of your body and health. Health should always be a priority.
On a different note, ince I was running out of all things make-up and skin care, this little over-indulgence spree came at a perfect time and I left Holts with the following goodies:

And now on to my outfit, which is simple and casual. These See by Chloe babies are my go-to pair when I have no idea what to wear,. As for the rest of the look, I decided on all grey as it is one of my favorite color combinations :) I adore monochromatic looks!
