When I’m not drinking Black Tea, I’m drinking Guayusa. I love it so much that the other day i was working on an ode to Guayusa.

    Here it goes:

a superior stimulant to coffee / you don’t make me jittery / containing 2x the ORAC of green tea / boosting my GABA with L-Theanine / GUAYUSA, GUAYUSA how I love thee / I will keep my supply steady from @DAVIDsTEA

Here’s the thing! GABA is my favourite neurotransmitter evar. Figuring out how to boost this sweet thing naturally saved me. GABA supplements, unfortunately, do not cross the blood-brain barrier.Guayusa and black tea contain L-Theanine, a compound amino acid that crosses the blood-brain barrier to assist in the production of GABA. L-theanine’s psychoactive properties can cause an increase in alpha-waves — similar to the effects of meditation and deep relaxation. Anxiety, AD(H)D, low-mood got you down? Improve your overall cognition by targeting GABA effectively with L-Theanine found in Guayusa and Black Tea. End PSA.

(that totally deserves a stash of tea — it’s for the betterment of mankind that I keep GABA elevated!)

I absolutely loooooooove David’s Tea, chosing just one favourite for the winter is really difficult. But I think my cup opens up to many helping of Santa’s Secret.

When I first tried it I was a little leery, because any mint (spear, pepper etc) seems to make my head all funny when I drink it. But Sanat’s Secret doesn’t cause any odd symptoms or weird feelings at all…. So when the weather dips mid November… I tend to (over)indulge on many mugs full until way late in the new year!
