Hello Darlings, There are times when a girl should spoil herself. Maybe as a reward for a job well done, to feel better during a crummy break-up, or if you’re feeling under the weather – a little time spent on yourself can be the best way to inspire and lift the spirits. Some of my personal favorites are art gallery visits, shopping at a make-up counter for spring updates, sandal shopping and some much needed girls nights on a patio. It’s just a matter of showing yourself some love.

My past month has been a blur with non-stop action and events – attending two big galas last week and hosting a cocktail soiree last night – so this morning my bubbly self burst minus the rainbow colours. With long work hours and little time for myself, I decided to take half a day off this morning and just indulge! Well, kind of take a day off….

I was kindly invited by Stillwater Spa to try their famed Essential Peel. Located in the heart of Yorkville at the upscale Park Hyatt, the spa is an urban oasis. I had been planning on trying Stillwater Spa for a while, primarily because of a close friend who has made a tradition on getting couples treatments with her partner and who has raved about the spa for years. Well no surprise, the experience has superb!

Surrounded by water features and minimalistic décor, the atmosphere was very soothing. I have always been a believer in having regular facials — aestheticians recommend monthly treatments, but I prefer three months intervals. But I always thought of my facials in the same way as I view dentist appointments, for regular maintenance with no joy included. Today I received a 20% glycolic peel using SkinCeuticals products, which is designed to minimize appearance of surface lines, smooth out rough skin texture, aid in clearing mild acne and help fade hyperpigmentation.

I was surprised as to how much I enjoyed the experience. Although extractions were part of the deal, my aesthetician Hanna was very gentle. The treatment took about an hour and half and included the most amazing face, scalp, neck, hands and feet massage. It was nice that it was beyond just a maintenance facial, rather more of an experience. After, I took some time to enjoy their lovely tea room with a cup of coffee and few magazines. The spa also offer access to their gym and jacuzzi with any treatment, so in the near future I foresee a girls spa day!

As for the outfits, well since my day began with a lovely breakfast I was going for cute and comfortable. Lately, I have been on a hunt for new spring additions and among my new finds are: Miu Miu flats, Mackage jacket, and Tory Burch top. As I said, sometime a girl needs to spoil herself.

With a lovely start to my morning, I slowly made my way back to the desk….

What is your favourite way to spoil yourself?

With Love…

Spoiling myself means going to a fancy restaurant. I’m yet to try a spa. Love your bag. Heart your shoes.

I too love your shoes! I like to spoil myself by taking extra time to get ready for going out. I love the whole process of putting myself together and I like to indulge and put on some music and enjoy it when I have the time.

Sarah, I am the same way 🙂 Whenever I have the free time, I like to watch Sex and the City while getting ready.

As a former massage therapy student, I adore getting a full body massage to spoil myself. As money is tight, I cannot afford such a luxury, so to spoil myself I make a cup of tea and watch a few episodes of Castle or Downton Abbey.

I greatly look forward to being able to afford a full body massage again someday soon 🙂 That is one of the many things that I miss about that program.

I enjoy massages as well, but they surely do come with a hefty price tag. Whenever, I feel like spending some time on myself without spending much, I love doing my nails while watching re-runs of Sex and The City.
