Hello Darlings,

Do you consider yourself a rational person, who makes good spending decisions and exercises restraint? Every so often there is an item that I really want it, but just can’t seem to justify the cost. At the end of the day, I usually feel pretty good about making wise choices.

For me right now, that item is an Yves Saint Laurent Oval Arty Ring. For a year I’ve admired this little gem from a distance until a few days ago. When you’re debating to spend more than you think you should, a second opinion is highly recommended. So after being responsible for so long it was my mother who encouraged to finally buy the ring!

Is it worth the hefty price? At the end of the day, it is costume jewelry. However, I do love it, and like my Yves Saint Laurent heels it is a little over the top and definitely makes a statement. This is one piece of jewelry that I love to simply dwell on while staring at my hand.

I am wearing:
Club Monaco Cotton/Silk Blouse
Wilfred Silk Marais Pant in Leopard
Club Monaco Cassidy Fedora
Jimmy Choo Izzy Shoes
YSL Arty Oval Ring in White
3.1 Phillip Lim Simon Sunnies
Z Spoke by Zac Posen Purse

I couldn’t wait to wear it, so for a ho-hum day of errands to Office Depot and Chapters paired it with the simplest of outfits. Some animal print, a little bit of Choo and lots and lots of comfort. Save heel wearing for a less mundane task, maybe a cocktail soiree with your girlies or a lovely dinner with your man.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

By the way, I am off to Montreal and then Trois-Rivières for the next week or so! A bientôt!

With Love…

I’ve been to both. I think you might love Trois- Rivières, it’s so calm and peaceful compared to the city life of Montreal and Toronto. It’s also great for practicing your French since hardly anyone speaks English or chooses to speak it. Enjoy!

I think having an opportunity to go somewhere quite is exact what I need. As for French, fingers crossed that my skills don’t fail me 😛 I will update the site regularly…look forward to hearing from you again!

Gorgeous! I love the ring – it’s so ornate, it could dress up the simplest of outfits. As for the feelings you’re having…I had the same reaction when I purchased my Rocco bag. I had stalked it for weeks and weeks before finally taking the four digit plunge. In the days I waited for it to arrive, I seriously wondered if I had made a huge financial mistake. When I arrived and unwrapped the beautiful bag, I knew it was right. I think the guilt is clouding your love for it – once you realize this is a special gift from your parents and you shouldn’t feel guilty, I think you’ll begin to feel better about it 🙂

Have fun in Montreal and Trois-Rivieres – the latter will be quite a shock if you’ve never been there before 😛

    xx from Montreal,

That is quite a statement piece. And what a lovely surprise from your parents. Last year I received a gorgeous necklace as a birthday present from my parents (I showed it to them, wink) and it’s my favourite piece of jewelry. 🙂

    Hi Marta,

I’ve been a fan of your blog for a long time (i’ve commented once before too!).
Can you please let me know where you purchased your YSL arty ring? I feel the exact same way as you about these rings-i absolutely adore them and want to finally go for it and get it once and for all. I was only able to find them on net-a-porter.com. Please let me know where you purchased yours and wherever I can find it in the white too..it’s a rare one to find! You can e-mail me the info if private.

    xoxo Michelle

Love your post. BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS !!

I just bought two of those rings myself but really love your white one. I live in the Toronto area, could you tell me where you got it from — I checked the YSL website and they only ship the white one to Europe? 🙁

      Thank you Serene!
I adore YSL arty rings. I got mine at Ssense.com but unfortunately they sold out a while ago. They are such a challenged, I am hoping to find one in black with gold specks.
