Hello Darlings, I’ve been blessed with a career that is always taking me to new places. Every day I count my blessings and wake up feeling like the luckiest girl in the world because of it. With constant travels comes a lifestyle of living out of a suitcase and spending many hours alone and away from home and at the hotels. While I adore traveling, the experience greatly depends on the quality of my stay at the hotel. Since most of my travels are work related, I spend a large part of my free time in my room catching up with work. So from hotel restaurants, work desk comfort and gym facility all make a huge difference. When traveling a lot it is the small and thoughtful details that make you feel welcome and comfortable.
Last weekend, I spent a few days back in a city I called home for a year – Montreal. With bittersweet memories, it is a city that will forever hold a special place in my heart. For this stay I was kindly welcomed to the chic Loews Hôtel Vogue in downtown Montreal. Located just 25 minutes away from Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport, the hotel is at the foot of Mount Royal on stylish rue De La Montagne. It is centrally located with a wide range of restaurants, shopping and attractions within walking distance.
The hotel recently welcomed La Societe Bistro which is one of my favorite spots in Toronto. The atmosphere is a combination of Parisian flairs and cuisine with North American contemporary style. Chef Sean Reeve creates a great bistro-inspired cuisine which can be enjoyed at the restaurant or from the comfort of your room. Having La Societe just steps away was definitely a winning point as I spent quite some time at the bar working while enjoying their delicious Kung Fu Girl Riesling with salmon tartare followed by the best dessert doughnuts I’ve ever had. To me having a great place to visit without leaving the hotel plays a huge factor in determining as to where I stay. Aside from the accommodations, the ambiance is very important.
The hotel features 142 oversize guest rooms and 16 suites. I had the pleasure of staying at one of the deluxe suits which was an absolute pleasure. The spacious suit had large king bedroom with a separate living room and a great working area. For a workaholic such as myself having the division of space is a dream come true. I hate working in bed and this made me feel right at home by having separation between relaxing and working spaces. After a long day it was a pleasure to come to a double-sized Jacuzzi bathtub with a TV, where I enjoyed soaking with bath salts and a glass of wine while catching up on the latest episode of Suits. Having a bath tub is another feature that is very important to me as it is my favorite way to finish the day.
All of the amenities at the hotel are made for comfort with style, every inch of the space is designer to be practical. The charming space was made even more pleasant by the service. The customer service was impeccable and I must admit one of the best I’ve ever received. This was my first experience at Loews property and I look forward to experiencing more, hopefully during my visit to South Beach for the Swim Week in July. Aside from having have found a new home away from home in Montreal, I enjoyed my trip immensely and came home feeling relaxed.
