White Denim—I love the idea but am terrified of wearing it. I adore the clean lines and the chic illusion of this white canvas, but just the same it’s blankness somewhat puzzles me. Out of all denim colors, white presents the biggest challenge.

Aside from dreading the dull black on white combination—black top and/or shoes—white denim is not flats-friendly. From a fear of dullness to a fear of stubbiness, I am almost convinced that I will never be comfortable wearing white jeans.

On a sunny afternoon in Naples Florida the day finally was right to try wearing my beloved yet dreaded pair of cropped 7 For All Mankind white skinnies. I bought them 9 months earlier at the famous Houston Galleria mall, but never was able to wear them during this past spring / summer in Toronto. But on this day, the combination of a nude pussy-bow blouse and a leopard flats just seemed to make sense to me. I figured that I wanted to stay away from the cliché and try something different, and was pleased with the result.

I AM WEARING:
7 For All Mankind Roxanne Jean
Club Monaco Sadie Blouse
Steven by Steve Madden Madee Leopard Loafers
Coach Madison Leather Lindsay Satchel
McQ by Alexander McQueen Razor Necklace
YSL Arty Ring
3.1 Phillip Lim Simon Sunglasses

In a Naples where styling by Polo and Hilfiger seemed more the norm, my white denim 7 For All Mankind skinnies still seemed appropriate and were certainly comfortable on my street shopping escapade. Although still intimidating, I liked my look and am now comfortable enough to pull them out once in a blue moon.
What’s your take on white denim?

I don’t think you should have any fear of white jeans- they look stunning on you! What a lovely outfit

You’re too darling, thank you. I am still getting used to wearing white jeans. What’s you favourite way to wear them?
Tough choice! I’d have to say either with a navy petite bateau striped shirt or with a chambray blue shirt- I adore how you style yours though

I love those suggestions, will give them a try! I think that the stripe would give it a wonderful nautical feel.
You look so chic. I love your shirt. You’re truly a beauty and I think your blog is great, I would like to invite you to my blog, check it out and if you like it we might follow each other.

I love this outfit
I think white denim is only hard to wear in the winter, since winter boots are mostly dark colors, which may be awkward. But with pumps, sandals or fun flats, it can totally work.
I love the current trend of colored jeans. I have a pair in purple and I’m now thinking of buying a pair in pink.
Dear Sasha,
I adore coloured denim, looking to pick up a pair in burgundy.
As for white denim, I think that it should be saved for warm weather for the precise reason of looking awkward.
