Florida’s Hidden Gem

Hello Darlings, Without a cloud in the sky and only sunny days at the beach, this week is a joy! For the past few years, my family and I have been vacationing at a charming beach house in Franklin County, North Florida. Definitely not your typical Florida vacation but one that is filled with nature and very few people 🙂

Franklin County is a quaint and sparsely populated area surrounded by state parks and 250 miles of stunning and pet-friendly beaches. It is located along the Gulf of Mexico in Florida’s northwest panhandle between Tallahassee and Panama City. The local community is closely knit and there really is nothing quite like Southern hospitality.

It is a hidden gem that has become our retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life and is perfect for anyone looking to get away and just relax. We also always bring two of our dogs to join the fun in the sun. Aside from the white sand beaches, the seafood is my favorite part.  From stone crab, clams, fish and oysters — it is a seafood lovers dream. Fresh off the boat and right into your tummy. The days are spent at the beach and the nights are spent indulging in local seafood goodness and just kicking back over a bottle of wine.

Every once in a blue moon, everyone  just needs to get away, unplug and enjoy the company of those you love most.

I love Florida! I usually spend my time in Clearwater – a retirement town LOL! I’m not one for Miami – too busy and too much partying for my taste. This looks like a great place to visit in Florida too!

I’ve never been to Clearwater but I definitely agree Miami is pretty tiring 🙂
