Hello Darlings, It’s officially the season of a sneaker! With Jimmy Choo, YSL, Lanvin, to Miu Miu — all offering sneakers with animals prints, sequins and metallic details — similar to the designer tee craze a few seasons ago, this season it is all about designer fashion forward sneakers. Like beautiful designer pumps, these darlings will cost a pretty penny but are definitely worth saving up for.

At first weary, I hopped on the sneaker bandwagon last week. After receiving a beautiful pair of Alexander McQueen x Puma sneakers as a gift, I was starting to understand all the hype. At a first look they were not my style but after a few wears I was sold on the idea — now I live in them! Aside from being super comfy, they are also practical for rainy and cold fall days.

In a similar way, last spring I took a leap and decided to purchase a pair of wedge See by Chloe sneakers. Like with this pair, I was initially somewhat uncomfortable wearing the trend. I loved the shoes but they just didn’t seem to work with my style. Boy was I wrong, after a little prancing around the closet, it turned out that both pairs were a fresh addition that my closet needed.

I AM WEARING: Juicy Couture Scalloped Jacket // Autumn Cashmere Cashmere Calvary Pencil Strip Sweater // 7 For All Mankind 10th Anniversary The Skinny Jeans // Kate Spade New Bond Street Sawyer // Alexander McQueen x Puma Medius Sneakers
Taking risks with fashion is a great idea but I am still not a fan of purchasing trends only with hopes that you will love them later. As a rule of thumb, every season try one fun trend that you are nervous about! Sometimes it will not work out, but more often than not you may hate it! But still do not be afraid of taking the occasional fashion risk! This season these kicks are my fashion risk and I am glad that I gave them a chance.
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
With Love…
Marta

Those sneakers are so kick-ass. I think I might get the Jeffrey Campbell [ISABEL MARANT KNOCKOFFS] sneaker wedge in the winter. I love wearing wedges when it snows because it keeps me higher off the ground. People think it’s impractical, but it’s actually a genius idea. Haha.
I couldn’t agree more!!!! I am obsessed with my See by Chloe wedges for that very reason. The farther from snow that I am the better!
By the way, have you ever bought any Jeffrey Campbell shoes before – if so, are they comfy?
Hey Marta,
I bought my mother a pair of white suede bootie wedges from J. Campbell last year, and she wears them all the time because they’re so comfy. I’m hoping the case will be the same with their sneaker wedges if you’re interested in purchasing them. I think their dimensions are two thumbs up for wearability. Have a lovely weekend!
