Hello Darlings, I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! This weekend was Orthodox Easter (the Easter that my family celebrates), so I had a lot of festivities and even wore an apron to show off my domestic skills…Well, according to my mother my remarkable culinary skills are not so impressive, but I do have mad Easter egg making skills.
Having been raised in a traditional Catholic family, I do attend church. Part of Orthodox Easter ritual is the blessing of the basket. As community gathers at the church the priest blesses the many culinary delights that each household brings. It is a special tradition that my family celebrates. As many of my fair ladies know, outfit options are limited when attending a religious temple. Typically, for Easter I wear feminine looks in light colours and of course heels. This year, I decided to mix things up and wear a simple look with ballerinas. I felt comfortable and appropriate for the occasion. The entire look was inspired by this memorable Chloe ballerina-like look from the S/S 2011 collection.

In such a traditional atmosphere, it may be intimidating to think outside the box but it is refreshing to see youth wear interesting ensembles that represent their culture. In all honesty, my view is that there is no need to wear black.
I am curious, if you attend religious ceremony what is your typical choice of an outfit? Do you think flats are an inappropriate choice?

Great church outfit! I think flats are great for church, as long as you stay on the conservative side I think any color is fine for church, no need to be boring!

I miss this tradition of blessing the basket. We used to do it in Ukraine in our neighborhood church, which I loved, but stopped when we moved here :/

I normally wear a traditional outfit, a salwar kameez. And we always attend religious ceremonies barefoot!
