Hello Darlings, When it comes to picking out an outfit, I always prefer a little dress. Slip it on and you’re one foot out the door — just be sure to always pair it with fabulous shoes!  From a silky figure hugging number for a date, a cotton maxi for the beach, or cocktail frocks with lace and sequins for a night out on the town. There are as many dress variations as there are women and often not one type suits all women, with the exception of  a little shift dress!

Made popular in the late 1950s and the staple of the 60s, a “shift dress” signified a shift in culture and  represented the rebellious attitude of the time period. The shape is flattering on most figures and is without doubt the most versatile of the category. It is classic and oh so Audrey Hepburn! Finding a perfect one might take time but if you have one in your closet — in addition to a little black dress —  you will be covered for most occasions.

To really bring out your inner Audrey with a simple shift dress, you want accessories to stand out and most definitely pair with fabulous shoes. A traditional shift dress always sits above the knee, highlighting your legs. In which case a lot of attention is drawn to your feet!

I found my little white shift dress at Aritzia and just in time for my university graduation. As it turns out, this is now one of the most used pieces in my summer wardrobe. With simple cut and clean lines, it is appropriate for meetings, and easy to wear with  flats for everyday,  and also looks perfect for a cocktail party with killer heels!

I AM WEARING: Talula Babaton Shift Dress // Marc by Marc Jacobs Mouse Flats // Pandora Leather Charm Bracelet // Coach Madison Lindsey Satchel // Kate Spade Retro Sunglasses

I wore my shift with a pair of statement flats from Marc by Marc Jacobs and a simple Coach tote. I loved everything about this look. It was easy, simple and perfect for a family birthday dinner!

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

With Love…

Marta
